Need Of Cyber Security

 In the recent time everything is digitalize and to secure the digital asset like (sensitive data, personal identifiable information, protected health information etc.) we need cyber security professionals.

Cyber crime increasing day by day. According to the report of 2020, in India cyber crime increased by 37 percent. In a fact of matter is whether an individual, small business and a multinational company, you rely on computers no matter what. The boom in the area of cloud services, IOT and smart phone leads us to the massive risk than before.

Why cyber crime is more day by day?

1. Now a days each and everything is digitize, it is easy to find the vulnerabilities in the system and exploit the vulnerability.
2. Lack of knowledge among people about the new technologies, how to use them properly. It leads to a massive threat, because it much easier to hack a human than a system.
3. Most of the application has not maintained or patched their application with the new vulnerabilities.
4. Day by day new types of attacks take place in the cyber world. 

Let me take a dangerous example of stuxnet worm. Stuxnet exposed in 2010, thought to have been in development since at least 2005.  It discovered from the places like power-plant, traffic control system, factories. This has the most complex structure to understand. It has the capabilities to increase the pressure in the reactor, and tells the system that everything is okay. It exploit security gaps , that system creators are unware of called as zero-days. Stuxnet has specific target if the target is not there then it remain dormant.

That's why it is essential to apply good practice of cyber security in the each type of organizations.
